PDP Ward Congress: Senators down tools

ABUJA—THE crisis between the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and senators elected on the platform of the party, over last Saturday’s ward congresses deepened, yesterday, as the senators refused to deliberate on issues on the Order Paper.

The PDP-controlled Senate had abruptly adjourned plenary last Tuesday following protests by the senators over alleged conspiracy of the Presidency, leadership of the party and the governors to shut out senators in the just-concluded ward congresses of the party and deny them tickets in next year’s elections.

The senators’ decision to boycott their legislative duties, yesterday, was in furtherance of their resolve last Tuesday to frustrate the PDP-led government and give solidarity to the Speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal over plot by the party to start process for his impeachment.

At the commencement of yesterday’s session which did not last more than 15 minutes, Senate President, David Mark made a remark on the looming crisis in the House of Representatives after the votes and proceedings of the previous legislative day were adopted. Senator Mark in his brief remarks said that as Chairman of the National Assembly, he would do everything humanly possible to protect and defend the legislature.

Feces-strewn floors, pentagrams on every wall and graves in the garden: Inside the North Carolina 'Satanist killer's' house of horrors

Police have released stomach-turning video taken from inside the disgusting home of accused North Carolina 'Satanist killer' Pazuza Algarad.

Inside the Clemmons house, behind which police uncovered two long-dead bodies from a shallow grave last month, is a virtual sea of trash, animal feces and other putrescence within walls utterly covered in pentagrams and depictions of the Devil.

The squalid scene lay behind a door covered in skulls and arcane symbols. Otherwise, the ranch-style brick home suggests none of the horrors police say took place inside and which date back as far as 2009.

Manchester United 'ready to cancel Anderson's contract' as attempts to offload flop fail

The Brazilian has been trying to prove himself but Louis van Gaal hasn't been impressed and the club could now pay up the rest of his deal
Manchester United are reportedly prepared to cancel midfielder Anderson's contract in January.

The Brazilian spent the second-half of last season on loan at Fiorentina but returned to United this summer in a bid to prove himself to Louis van Gaal.

However, he has now been told he can leave the club after failing to impress in his two appearances this season - the Capital One Cup humilation to MK Dons and the draw with Burnley.

Once regarded as one of the brightest talents in world football, Anderson was a £20million acquisition for United in 2007 but attempts to offload him have failed to succeed.

And with his stock falling to an almighty low, United are now exploring the possibility of paying up the rest of the five-year contract he agreed in 2010, according to the Telegraph.

That is likely to cost the club around £1.4million and although they would rather sell or loan him out, nothing has been ruled out.

It would not be the first time United have cancelled a players contract, with Fabien Barthez released in June 2004 at a cost of £5million - despite having two years remaining on his deal.

Manchester United's Robin van Persie could be dropped for youngster James Wilson this weekend

Robin van Persie's place is under threat this weekend - with young Manchester United striker James Wilson ready to step in.

United boss Louis van Gaal is considering giving Wilson his first start of the season against Crystal Palace on Saturday - with Van Persie the likely fall-guy.

Van Persie has scored just three goals this season and has struggled to find his best form, with the Holland star facing increasing pressure to keep his United place.

Van Gaal has already warned his high-profile United players none of them can be sure of their places, regardless of their reputation or price tag.

The United boss has been impressed with 18-year-old Wilson since arriving at Old Trafford and is keen to give the youngster the chance he feels he deserves.

Pacey forward Wilson came on for Van Persie in United’s 1-0 derby defeat away to Manchester City last Sunday and looked lively in his late cameo role.

Did Singer Have A Facelift?

Janet Jackson was spotted at a recent Vogue Fashion event in Dubai after almost 2years of disappearance from the public. But her new look raised eyebrows causing many to wonder if she had had a facelift.

In an interview with Extra, the diva's make-up artist, Preston Meneses rose to the star's defense claiming the 48-year-old sister of Michael Jackson looked that way thank to his handiwork, not a cosmetic surgeon's.

"Everyone's talking about the brow and how it's going up, and people are calling it a facelift,' Preston said, adding with a laugh: 'Not true at all - just me. It is the make-up... make-up is made to transform people.”

According to UK's DailyMail, the star had an oblique line to her cheeks accentuated by slanting eyebrows, and her hair was pulled up in a high ponytail.

But Preston told the site: "To me, she looks like Janet, but everyone seems to think she looks, you know, different in some way but I don't think she looks different,' Preston continued... "She's just a gorgeous woman and I think when people see her in public they see how gorgeous she is and they try to figure out what's going on."

Explaing how he got Janet's face looking so fly, Preston said:

'I give her a little contouring in the cheek, very little, not too much... give her a wash of bronze over the eyes, nice lash, winged her eye a little bit,' Preston said.

Americans Call TV Star "Useless Bimbo" Over Midterm Elections

Kim Kardashian posted a cartoon image of herself with President Barack Obama on Instagram & Twitter Monday night, writing: "I’m standing w Obama in the midterm election 2morrow!' despite him not being up for re-election."

But the 34-year-old star was accused of misunderstanding the midterm elections. Kim was instantly mocked for the post, with Twitter users explaining that Obama is clearly not on the ballot for Tuesday's midterms.

Some users labelled Kim an 'airhead' while another called her a 'useless bimbo' as they assumed Kim was encouraging her Twitter followers to vote for the President.

However, others pointed out that perhaps Kim's tweet meant she was 'standing' with Obama in voting along Democratic party lines (despite the fact that in 2002 she appeared to back Republican hopeful Rick Santorum).

Either way, Kim did not respond to her critics, or clarify the assumption that she had misunderstood the midterms. Instead, on Tuesday she encouraged her 25 million followers: "Today is the day! Go out and vote!"
