Importing Crime 3 Chinese men arrested for importing contraband goods into Nigeria

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has announce the arrest of three Chinese business men identified as Gao Gnuxu, Li Yang and Zhon Showmin, for allegedly smuggling contraband and illegal textile materials worth over N20 billion into the country.
The service has also sealed over 20 warehouses belonging to the Chinese in Kano and Lagos States respectively, in an operation co-ordinated by the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Muhammad Diko Inde.
According to the service, the operation was undertaken under the directives of the CGC who had been monitoring movements of the smugglers who were mainly Chinese and at a stage, the operatives of the Customs conducted undercover operation to locate and discover the actual number of illegal warehouses in Kano State being operated by foreigners with the support of unpatriotic Nigerians.

Wole Soyinka Nobel Laureate leads race for Oxford Professor of Poetry

Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka is set to be elected as the Oxford professor of poetry after emerging as the leading candidate for the role.
Candidates for the 300-year-old position, which is seen as the top academic poetry role in the UK, need to be nominated by at least 50 Oxford graduates.
Soyinka has already gathered more than 90 nominations, including votes from writers, Melvyn Bragg and Robert Macfarlane, the Guardian UK reports.
The role is currently occupied by eminent poet, Geoffrey Hillwho will complete his five-year tenure this summer.

Emmanuel Adebayor's brother who stole 21 phones in France

 

Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed the photo of his brother who allegedly stole 21 phones from a football academy in France.
In the revelation, Adebayor revealed that he sent his one his brothers, Rotimi to a football academy in France where he kicked out after stealing 21 phones.
"When I was in Monaco I thought it would be good to have a family of footballers. So I made sure my brother Rotimi gets into a football academy in France. Within a few months; out of 27 players, he stole 21 phones,"  Adebayor revealed in his Facebook post.

In UK Voting begins across country

Voting has begun across the United Kingdom as million of citizens have trooped out to cat their votes in an election that is being dubbed 'a very tight race'.
BBC reports that polls opened at 07:00 British Summer Time (BST) at around 50,000 polling stations across the UK.
They will remain open until 22:00.

Dangote ‘Still Interested’ In Buying Arsenal For ‘Right Price’

Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote told Bloomberg on Tuesday that he still has plans to buy Arsenal for the “right price” in the future.
Dangote was linked with making an approach to buy a stake in Arsenal in 2010, before he said he decided against the investment.
