'No time for hate just love': Mom of boy, 14, shot point-blank in head by his cousin in school love-triangle shooting shows remarkable compassion as all four survivors fight for their lives in hospital

The mother of one of the five teenagers shot at point-blank range by their friend in a high school cafeteria has delivered an emotional appeal for peace in the community of Marysville. Denise Hatch-Anderson's son Nate Hatch, 14, is fighting for life after his cousin and best friend Jaylen Fryberg fired a bullet into his head. The deadly attack that left one dead and four critically wounded has crushed the community with many branding Jaylen a 'demon'. But in a striking statement of pacifism, Mrs Hatch-Anderson has urged those reeling in anger to be peaceful, saying: 'no time for hate just love'. She thanked the thousands of friends, relatives and strangers who have donated gifts and money in the 24 hours following Jaylen's attack on Marysville-Pilchuck High School. 'Thank you so much from the mother of Nate Hatch,' she wrote on Facebook. 'I cant thank everyone from our community for the outpouring love that has been showen [sic] to me since this tragic happened....i love everyone!!! 'No time for hate just love.'
