Nadia Ezaldein, 22, who was a seasonal worker at the downtown Chicago branch, was gunned down by Marcus Dee, 31, before he turned the gun on himself. Her family have revealed that Dee, who was declared dead at the scene, put the woman through months of 'psychological torment'. They had flown in especially to surprise the victim for her birthday. The woman's brother said: 'I would say there was a lot of emotional traumatizing phrases and words. It was a very strange circumstance.' Miss Ezaldein moved to the Windy City in 2009 to study law and had taken the job so she could afford tuition fees. Their family described how they had flown into the city to surprise her and hold a dinner for her birthday. The gunman, they said, would constantly call and text the family following the pair's break-up in December 31, and had even sought legal protection from him.
