Chief ISIS executioner, 'Jihadi John' has been identified as 26-year-old West Londoner, Mohammed Emwazi

‘Jihadi John’, a man who has featured in a series of ISIS beheading videos, was on Thursday, February 26, unmasked as 26-year-old Mohammed Emwazi.
Emwazi is believed to have participated in the beheading of foreigners, James FoleySteven SotloffDavid HainesAlan HenningPeter Kassig and Kenji Goto.
Here are 10 things you should know about him:

  1. He was born in Kuwait.
  2. He moved to the UK when he was six years old.
  3. His father is a taxi driver.
  4. He has three siblings, two sisters and a brother, who is a small-time criminal with radical views.
  5. He attended the Church of England school, where he was the only Muslim student in his class.
  6. He once had dreams of being a footballer.
  7. He studied Information Systems with Business Management at the University of Westminster from 2006 to 2009.
  8. He tried to travel to Somalia, the home of terrorist group, Al Shabaab, in 2009.
  9. He was put on a no-fly terror watch list in 2010.
  10. He still managed to travel to Syria to join ISIS in 2012.
