Vin Diesel Announces the 8th Fast and the Furious Film Is Set for 2017

Fast and the Furious forever, it seems. Vin Diesel gave the fans what they wanted when he announced, “Furious 8 will be yours to share with the world on April 14, 2017,” at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday. The actor added confidently that it will be  “the best movie you’ve ever seen.” Way to set the bar high!
Of course, the bar does need to be set high, as Furious 7 has grossed over $1 billion dollars, making it the 7th highest grossing movie of all time.
There aren’t too many details about next film in the franchise—it doesn’t even have an official title yet—but according to Diesel it will most likely take place in New York and the core cast is expected to return. We, for one, hope we’ll also get to see Kurt Russell, who had an important role in Furious 7, back for the eighth movie, as well as Cody Walker (who helped fill in for his late brother Paul Walker to complete filming on Furious 7).
