Second time lucky! According to Beyonce's hairstylist Neal Farinah, the singer requested to have her hairstyle changed just minutes before she was due to arrive at the Met Gala (pictured)
'And I said, "Honey, there could be cameras in the elevator,"' he added, referring to the now-infamous incident at last year's Met Gala during which Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles was caught on camera in the midst of a physical altercation with the singer's husband Jay-Z.
Mr Farinah added that Beyonce came up with the idea for the high ponytail, which garnered almost as much attention as the singer's stunning sheer dress when she finally hit the red carpet at 10pm, four hours after Met Gala host and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour had arrived.
According to the stylist, Beyonce gave him a time limit of 'five minutes' in which to complete the new hairstyle, however it appears the transformation took a lot longer to complete than expected; according to the New York Post, some photographers on the red carpet were even questioning whether Beyonce was actually going to turn up at all.
'She is a powerhouse and she knows what she wants,' Mr Farinah added.
Low to high: Mr Farinah explained that the 33-year-old had originally had her hair styled in an 'Asian-inspired chignon', adding that she was worried it would look 'too costumey'
