Eye-witnesses have reported the streets of Palmyra in Syria are strewn with bodies of women and children - the latest victims of the Islamic State's unrelenting savagery. It is the second mass-slaughter since the terror group seized full control of the historic settlement on Wednesday. State television said the victims were executed for being suspected government loyalists. Pictures of 20 captured Syrian soldiers have emerged today following the the slaughter of 300 pro-government troops three days ago.
