The Warrior Prince: Harry dons traditional cloak and adopts Maori nose-to-nose greeting... but stops short of a face tattoo

Prince Harry dons traditional cloak in New Zealand in recognition of Maori culture

The feel-good factor continued for Prince Harry on the sixth day of his visit to New Zealand as he met local dignitaries in the river city of Whanganui on Thursday.
Wearing the korowai, or cloak (top right), that Ngai Tahu - the principal tribe of the southern region of the country - had given him in Invercargill earlier this week, he happily introduced himself to locals with the traditional New Zealand greeting (left). He was given a pwhiri in the morning, which is a welcome party involving speeches, dancing and singing. Later in the day, the prince was made to work for this lunch, paddling down Whanganui River in a large waka called 'The Queen' (bottom right), before arriving at the Union Boat Club. He joked with locals that, while his uncle Prince Edward had spent a year in Whanganui and was a regular visitor, he would 'unfortunately not be able to spend such a long time.'
