Beijing Muslims banned from fasting

Ramadan.

Ramadan is a holy month of fasting for Muslims. Only the elderly, children and those who are sick are exempted from the fast.
From reports reaching us, it looks like Muslims in the Xinjiang district will not participate in the Ramadan fast.
Our source reports that Muslims in the area have been banned from observing the Holy month of Ramadan.
A spokesman for the exiled Uighur group, Dilxat Raxit in an interview with Fox News, said "China is increasing its bans and monitoring as Ramadan approaches. The faith of the Uighurs has been highly politicised, and the increase in controls could cause sharp resistance.”
Adding that the Chinese government’s call to Uighur civil servants not to observe Ramadan, is a clear move that it is trying to control the practise of Islam.
Citing incidents where the government ordered Muslim shops in Xinjiang to sell cigarette and alcohol or be shut.
