As the parents of any fussy eaters know, sometimes it can be a real struggle to get children to eat their vegetables.
But that everyday battle could soon be over - as scientists have developed the word's first striped pepper.
The eye-catching vegetable has been developed by Asda to encourage fussy children to eat their five-a-day.
The Asda Extra Special Stripy Pepper has striking flashes of yellow and red throughout - and the combined benefits of both red and yellow peppers.
Thanks to its dual complexion the pepper combines the sweetness of both separate colours and contains more vitamin C than an orange.
The supermarket chain helped to develop the unique vegetable after research found that almost half of parents said peppers were the vegetable their children were most fussy about.
Charlie Mills, Fresh Produce Manager at Asda, said: 'We know parents can have a hard time getting their children to eat their five a day, but we've been working with growers for seven years, and we're confident our pepper will earn its stripes with mums and kids alike.

'It's been a long road but we're thrilled to finally see the Asda Extra Special Stripy Pepper hit shelves and this is just the beginning of a new fruit and veg revolution.'
Research released today found 75 per cent of children turn their noses up at new foods.
Parents say the main reason their child does not like to eat fruit and vegetables is being they are not considered as fun or interesting as other foods.
The striped pepper hits stores on Monday June 8 and is priced at £1.99 for a pack of two.
