Two hundred years of history up in smoke: Teenager arrested on suspicion of arson after Grade II Listed church is gutted by fire

Teen arrested on suspicion of arson after 200-year-old All Saints Church is burned down

A 17-year-old has been arrested after a fire broke out in All Saints Church in Fleet yesterday evening, destroying the roof and most of the stained glass windows, causing more than £1million of damage. The boy, who has not been named, is currently in police custody but officer say they are continuing to investigate. A couple were due to get married at the church this weekend, according to officials, and are now having to make emergency preparations to move the ceremony elsewhere.

Officers say the 17-year-old is now in custody but investigations are still continuing and the church building remains cordoned off
However, the most recent blaze is believed to have taken hold at around 5.30pm yesterday, before gutting the building.
