It's Christmas Kate! Duchess of Cambridge is festive in red Alexander McQueen dress for children's mental health centre party

Showing off her playful side, the Duchess of Cambridge sat amongst the children and tapped along to the beat on her drum

Kate's appearance at the centre provoked much excitement with youngsters dressed in Santa Claus hats keen to give her a hug
She will have received scores of Christmas party invites but there's one festive engagement that The Duchess of Cambridge just couldn't turn down.
Thirty-three-year-old Kate stepped out today in a red Alexander McQueen dress, that she has worn twice before, to attend the end-of-term celebrations at North London's Anna Freud Centre, a leading institution for youngsters with mental health issues.
At her first Yuletide gathering of the season, mother-of-two Kate was on hand to join family groups in creating a Christmas tree collage.
The activity was part of an end-of-term reflection, with parents helping the children remember the positive progress they have made, both academically and in social relationships.

The Duchess joined groups of families in Festive activities designed to help pupils reflect on the positive progress in their social relationships and communication skills
Kate also watched intently to a musical performance given by children, parents and staff to mark the end of term, allowing kids to demonstrate the skills they are developing in drumming workshops.
Kensington Palace shared a short clip on their Twitter page of the Duchess merrily tapping along to the beat.
Renowned for her love of art, the Duchess appeared to help the youngster draw and cut out leaves for his Christmas tree collage
