Last week, Kanye West announced that he is considering a run for the White House in 2024.
And
the performer's collaborator, American rapper Desiigner, says that the
41-year-old is on a 'mission' and simply 'misunderstood'.
The 21-year-old told The Daily Telegraph: 'Kanye
is one of my mentors... He is really focused on what he wants to do, he
has a lot of missions that he needs to accomplish. His operation is
big.'
Kanye has become a controversial figure
among a large portion of his fans over the past year because of his
praise for President Donald Trump.
He also raised ire for insensitive comments he made on TMZ about the history of slavery in America.
However the Gold Digger singer last week apologised for his remarks earlier this year in which he said that 'slavery was a choice.'
It was the second time that the multiple Grammy winner said he was sorry about his comments.
'I don't know if I properly apologized for how that slave comment made people feel,' he told WGCI radio in Chicago.
'I am sorry for the one two effect of the MAGA hat into the slave comment,' he told the radio hosts.
While
Kanye said during the interview that he still supports President Trump,
he also commented that he's a fan of Bernie Sanders and Hillary
Clinton.
The singer went on to
announce that while he is unlikely to run for US present in 2020 as he
originally suggested, he is now eyeing a 2024 bid.
The
Jesus Walks hitmaker has been married to reality star Kim Kardashian
since 2014 and the couple have three children, North West, 5, Saint
West, 2, and new baby Chicago West, 7 months.
