'We remember the moment when America fought back!' Trump pledges to continue to fight radical Islamic terrorism as he marks 17th anniversary of 9/11 by unveiling new 93 foot monument in Shanksville

Trump commemorates heroes of flight 93 and pledges to fight 'radical Islamic terrorism'

Memorial events took place across the U.S. to mark the 17th anniversary of 9/11 today. Sombre ceremonies of remembrance were held in the three sites of the atrocity and a moment’s silence was respected across the nation. President Donald Trump and the First Lady visited the Shanksville field, center, where one of the hijacked airliners crash-landed killing 40 passengers and crew members.
Brave passengers stormed the cockpit of that plane when they realised what was taking place. The crash site has now been converted into a memorial. In New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo, Rudy Giuliani, Nikki Haley, Bill de Blasio and Chris Christie were among those who gathered for a moment's silence at the site of the World Trade Center alongside survivors, relatives and first responders, right. In all, nearly 3,000 people were killed on 9/11 when hijackers flew airplanes into New York's World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Shanksville.
