What is the double egg chair?
It’s pretty much a supersized version of the original hanging chair. It has the same rattan design and comes with oversized grey cushions to keep you cosy as you chill out. The frame is made out of steel so it’s sturdy enough to keep you and a fellow lounger safe when relaxing. It comes with a three-year guarantee, too.
When can I get my hands on one?
Aldi’s double egg chair will be available for preorder on the 4th of July. The chair will be on sale exclusively online and we don’t expect it to stay in stock for very long!
If stock runs out before you get to add one to your own cart, we recommend checking eBay periodically. Since the boom in egg chair sales, we’ve noticed a number of Aldi’s prized chairs popping up on the site for resale, however, you will usually pay a steeper price!
As for price, it will be on sale for £249.99, about twice the price of Aldi's one-seater option. While this might feel a little steep, it’s actually a fair amount cheaper than other similar options on the market.
Our picks for Aldi egg chair alternatives
If you can’t wait to buy the double egg chair or you don’t manage to nab one when they go on sale, we’ve found some great alternatives that will elevate the style of any garden. They all have a similar design to Aldi’s chair making them egg-cellent choices.
Charles Bentley Double Swing Chair
We love the natural colours featured in this hanging chair. They give the chair an elegant aesthetic that will instantly make it the focal point of any garden.
The seat and head cushions are adjustable and removable so they can be washed when needed. The chair also comes with a safety belt to keep the basket within swinging range of its black frame.
Amara Two Seater Wicker Hanging Chair
Another great substitute for Aldi’s double egg chair is this one from Amara.
The grey frame is made from iron while the upholstery has been constructed out of olefin fabric, a strong synthetic material used to create carpets and ropes. The whole chair is weatherproof so you can leave it outside all year round without worrying about the temperamental British weather leaving its mark.
It’s available in black, too if you prefer darker tones in your garden.
Marlotta Double Swing Chair with Stand
If your heart isn’t set on a truly egg shaped chair, this one from Wayfair is a great option.
It’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, is weatherproof and comes with a sturdy steel frame. The rattan design has been hand-woven and the cushion is removable in case you want to air it out between swings.
GardenCo Milan Double Hanging Egg Chair
This taupe egg chair comes with blue cushions so it’s a great choice for those looking to add a pop of colour to their gardens. The seat’s design has a clean and elegant weave that won’t make a garden look too busy. An added bonus is that its metal frame is rust-resistant and the wicker used for its pared-down cocoon is UV-proof, so it won’t fade in the sun.
All of its cushions can be adjusted, too to help you achieve optimum levels of comfort as you soak up some sun or snooze in the shade.
The Range Double Seater Foldable Chair
The best thing about this hanging chair is that it’s easy to store; it’s really simple to fold this chair and move it somewhere else when in need of extra space in your garden.
The steel frame is weatherproof so the metal won’t rust or fade and it rocks gently to create the ultimate relaxation session. Meanwhile, the seat and back cushion will keep you extra comfortable and cosy.
This chair can go out of stock quickly too, so we advise adding to your basket ASAP when in stock.
