Kate Hudson Ends Three Year Engagement

Do long engagements equal shorter relationships? That seems to be the case with Kate Hudsonand Matthew Bellamy, who have called off their nearly three year engagement.

Their joint rep tells “E! News” the two “have been separated for some time now,” but “remain close friends and committed co-parents.” The actress and Muse front man began dating in 2010 and welcomed their only child–Bingham–back in 2011, shortly after deciding to get married. Over the past year, both have battled break up rumors and maintained a united front, even while things fell a part behind the scenes.

This also marks Kate’s second high profile separation. She was previously married to another musician–Chris Robinson–whom she shares a son with.

As of late, multiple sources tell “Us Weekly” the “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days” star is already rebounding with dancer Derek Hough. In addition to being spotted in L.A. this past weekend, Kate has admitted to spending time with the DWTS cast member before.

“My heart is really in contemporary jazz, but lately I’ve been ballroom dancing with Derek Hough. It’s been a real blast,” she dished to “Shape” in 2013.
