Ekiti Elections Obanikoro sues Sahara Reporters, others for N1BN over rigging allegations

The former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikorohas instituted a suit against online news platform, Sahara Reporters following allegations of election rigging the latter levelled against him.
Other defendants joined in the suit are Punch Newspapers Ltd.,Omoyele Sowore, Publisher of Sahara Reporters and Festus Owete, General Editor at Premium Times.
The suit was filed on Tuesday, 10th February at the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja and Obanikoro is seeking damages of N1 billion, The Breaking Times reports.
The former Minister of State has also reportedly hired the services of celebrated US firm, Tacopina & Seigel to handle the case against Sahara Reporters, which is located in New York.
Sahara Reporters had earlier released a recording  which purportedly featured Obanikoro, Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose and Senator Iyiola Omisore discussing plans to rig the June 2014 elections in the state.
